Management Team

Oceana Sensor Module LLC’s management team offers an exceptional complement of executive management, engineering, sales, marketing, as well as product development expertise in the maintenance and sensor industry and in general business applications. The team is strongly entrepreneurial with direct experience in building new companies and products. In addition to their combined experience and outstanding track record in previous companies, the team members have extensive visibility and contacts in several industries.

Alex Kalasinsky, CEO - An accomplished entrepreneur and software industry veteran with a background in Industrial, Government, Healthcare and Financial Services. He brings broad-based skills and experiences in general management, finance, strategic marketing, sales, information technology, software development, and product management, and has a proven track record of solid accomplishments in both large multinational and start-up companies, as well as turnaround situations. Most recently, Alex has worked with Oceana Sensor Technologies Inc. on corporate development and revenue acquisition. Previously, he founded and served as president and CEO of Physicians Data, a venture-backed company. Alex also founded and served as Executive Vice President of Solution Point Inc. He has held senior level positions at Carestream Corporation, The MEDSTAT Group, Xerox Corporation and Baxter Travenol. He has completed MBA courses at Old Dominion University, Executive Management programs at Xerox Corporation and holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Wyoming.

Louis C. Dommer III, CFO – Lou has over 17 years of experience at the PCB Group of companies. The past 12 years have entailed executive management at PCB Piezotronics, Inc. and Oceana Sensor Technologies, Inc. and Board of Director duties for these two companies, PCB Group, Inc. and The Modal Shop. Challenges have included managing growth and profitability in both an existing business of greater than $30 million in revenues and a start up, establishing a certified ISO 9001:2000 quality system, new business startup, engineering administration, operations, finance and strategic corporate development. Along with his business management expertise, Lou is also knowledgeable in high volume manufacturing, government contracting, and growth management and has a working knowledge of the principles and applications of smart sensor networks. Lou holds a BSAS from The Ohio State University and an Executive MBA from the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester.

Jens Hult, CTO - leads the development of the Wireless Sensor Module (WSeM™). His expertise includes wireless “smart” sensors, including analog signal conditioning, analog to digital interfaces, Bluetooth and 802.11 wireless technologies, embedded computing and low-power design. He has lead teams that design, develop, and integrate systems and circuits, RF and antenna technology, programming ARM core microprocessors, various DSP’s, communication protocols, and ad-hoc networking for company product development. Jens has spoken at international conferences on the subject of using wireless smart sensors for condition based maintenance applications. He participates as a member of the IEEE 1451.5 Standardization Committee for Wireless Smart Sensors and is on the committee for ISA SP100 Wireless for Industrial Application. Jens’ MSEE has an emphasis on Telecommunications/Signal Processing. Previously, he worked as a Product Manager at PCB Europe in Linnich, Germany and an Engineering Technician at Flextronics in Karlskrona, Sweden. He holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from Blekinge Institute of Technology, Karlskrona, Sweden with studies at Fachhochschule in Darmstadt, Germany and the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Richard Lally, Director : Rick has over 27 years of sensor industry experience. His accomplishments have included product development, strategic technology development, new business startup and executive management. Rick and his management team established Oceana Sensor in 1995 focusing on developing wireless, smart sensor solutions for industrial and military applications. In 2007, Rick was elected chairman of the Virginia Technology Alliance whose members are the 10 regional technology councils of Virginia. Rick has been the chairman of the Hampton Roads Technology Council since 2004. The HRTC is one of the 10 regional associations in Virginia committed to unifying Virginia under one technology based economy. He serves on the board of the Virginia Coastal Energy Research Consortium, board of the Hampton Roads Research Partnership and Industrial Advisory Committee to Norfolk State University. In 2007, Rick was instrumental in establishing the National Association of Sensor Science and Technology dedicated to advocacy, education and the growth of sensor businesses in America. He currently serves as NASST’s Executive Director. Rick holds a BSME from Clarkson University, an MSME from University of Cincinnati and an Executive MBA from the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester. Along with his business management expertise, Rick is also knowledgeable in transduction principles, sensor integration, calibration, maintenance practices and application engineering of smart sensor networks.
